GALVESTON, Texas The grandparents of a
ten-year-old boy suspected of fatally shooting
his father filed a wrongful death lawsuit today
in Galveston. The civil suit names the boy's
mother, stepfather and a company that makes the
drug Prozac.
The suit says the boy was taking the
antidepressant at the time of the August 27th
killing of Doctor Rick Lohstroh.
The physician was shot while at his
ex-wife's home to pick up his two sons.
The suit was brought by Lohstroh's
mother, Joanne Greene, and her husband, Richard
Greene, of Columbia, South Carolina.
A spokesman for Eli Lilly and Company
declined comment.
The lawsuit also claims the boy's mother,
nurse Deborah Geisler, and her husband, Matthew
Swanson, were negligent.
An attorney for Geisler declined comment,
citing a gag order in the ten-year-old boy's
case.
The child hasn't been formally charged.
